Hanuman Chalisa in Hindi: Hanuman Chalisa is a Hindu devotional Bhajan (Stotra) which has been addressed to Lord Hanuman. It is assumed that 16th century poet Tulsidas wrote Hanuman Chalisa in Avadi language - Devanagari (usually an Indo-Aryan language spoken in Uttar Pradesh, Avand vicinity and Nepal's Terai place).
The word "chalisa" become derived from the Hindi phrase "forty" which means that forty (40). It represents 40 verses in the hymn (besides for advent 2 duhas)
